The Motorola Moto Watch 70 is coming soon, as the wearable device has been listed at Best Buy Canada. The landing page shows the product in all its glory, showing the main details with a boring, simple and lazy design.
The Moto 70 has a 1.69-inch color display with a resolution of 240 x 280 pixels. We don't know if the screen is LCD or AMOLED, but the inner casing is made of zinc alloy. You will get a silicone strap that comes with the device. As for other features, the Moto 70 includes SPO2 sensor and heart rate monitoring with gyroscope. On-board fitness features include 23 sport modes.
For connectivity, you'll benefit from Bluetooth 5.0 to pair with your smartphone. Specs-wise, the Moto 70 is rated for up to 14 hours of continuous use, which is bad considering it doesn't have Wear OS.
Each real-time or RTOS operating system (think smartwatches from Amazfit, Honor, etc.) takes more than a week. The next Motorola smartwatch is rumored to run Moto OS, which was also seen on the Moto Watch 100 launched last year.
The Moto 70 is completely different from the Moto 100 in terms of design. Instead of a circular dial, it has a rectangular design that is not dissimilar to the Apple Watch and Amazfit GTS series. This year it's the same Motorola that launched the once-awesome Moto 360 in 2014. The company has since been sold to Lenovo and is now churning out products with unique design languages. The company seems reluctant to innovate and prefers to play it safe, leaving wearables that look like other smartwatches on the market.
The Moto 70 is available in black for CAD 99, or just $75. At this price, it competes with the Amazfit Bip U Pro. Coming soon.
