Instead of sweeping changes, the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G aims to improve on last year's hardware platform and move forward. Looking at the display, the Galaxy A54 is slightly smaller (6.4 inches) than the Galaxy A53, which measures 6.5 inches. As a result, the Galaxy A54 has slightly larger bezels than its predecessor. There isn't much new under the sun (or should I say under the hood) when it comes to battery and charging speeds between the Galaxy A54 5G and A53 5G. Both phones pack a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging (but make sure you're using a compatible charger or you'll be limited to 15W).
We found the Galaxy A53 to be effective in extending battery life, which lasts about two days with regular use. After unloading, it took about 85 minutes to fully fill the A53, which was a little long. We'll have to wait until our Galaxy A54 5G review is over to see if battery life and charging speeds improve, but given similar specs, we don't expect much of a difference.

Although the A54 has three cameras instead of the A53 5G's four, the design is more modern. In addition, larger sensors should provide the same or better quality for your photos, especially in low light conditions.
If you already have a Galaxy A53 5G, you have little incentive to upgrade.
If you only bought the Galaxy A53 5G last year, you won't have enough incentive to spend an extra $450 on the latest model.
