There are millions of ways to send files between different Android and iOS devices. Android has Proximity Sharing, Bluetooth, NFC and premium services offered by OEMs. Samsung has a new way to send files called Dropship, and you can also send files to iOS devices. However, according to SamMobile, this functionality will be very limited.
Dropship feature will work better than other features. For starters, it won't use Bluetooth like other services. Instead, both devices must be connected to the Internet. However, there is no need to connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi connection.
The Dropship app can be downloaded from the Samsung Galaxy Store. After downloading, you will be greeted with a user interface that allows you to select the file you want to send.
You can use the program's native file browser or choose a file extraction program. When you're ready to send, Dropship will generate a link and QR code to send the file. This is important because there are two ways to receive a file.
The first mentioned link will end with six digits. This number will be unique for each file. Once you are able to access the Dropship app, select the Get File option and enter those numbers and your phone will start downloading the file.
The other method is a little easier. All you have to do is scan the QR code with the device you want to get the file and start downloading it
If you're excited to use this feature, keep in mind that the barrier to entry is pretty high. This feature is full of annoying limitations that keep you away from it. For starters, you need One UI 5.0 if you want to use this feature This version of Samsung's Android skin is still in the launch phase, so most people won't be able to access it.
Next, this feature is the Samsung Good Lock module and this platform is not available on the following Samsung phones Also, Good Lock is also not available in some regions.
Finally, you can send up to 5 GB per day. This is not a negative limitation if you are sending small images and files. However, if you plan to send a large batch of files, you may want to use another method to send the files.
