- The company is teasing its new custom chips.
It's been a while since we last heard about Oppo's upcoming foldable phone. But that's about to change after the company announced the date for its Inno Day 2022 event.
Like Google Made by Google event and Apple Far Out event, Inno Day 2022 is Oppo's annual event to showcase its products. This year, the phone maker has planned the exhibition on December 14.
Besides announcing the launch date, Oppo also teased the unveiling of a new custom chip in the same tweet. The chip in question is likely the next-generation MariSilicon X, the SoC that Oppo introduced last year.
Another thing expected to be unveiled at the event is the company's next Galaxy Z Fold-like device, the Oppo Find N2. Not only will the foldable phone be announced, it could also be unveiled at the same time as the event.
Oppo also has a Galaxy Z Flip-like phone called the Oppo Find N2 Flip. A recent leak revealed that the flagship phone could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus processor, a MariSilicon X chip and a 4,300mAh battery with 44W wired charging. However, there are rumors that the device will not launch alongside its sibling and will instead launch next year.
In previous years, the company has used the opportunity to showcase new concepts, such as a mobile concept coming in 2020. Does Oppo have anything to do this year? We'll just have to see when that happens.
