YouTube has released its annual list of Ireland's most popular music videos and music videos of the past year as part of its 2022 year-end list.
The 2022 YouTube charts reflect the most important moments published online and offline over the past year. The list features videos from YouTube's most popular content creators, as well as the biggest news stories of the year.
"Each year, the YouTube Top Charts give us valuable insight into the songs, people and videos that dominated Ireland over the past year," said Julie Dilger, director of external communications at Google Ireland.
"YouTube is where everyone comes to see what's happening and what's happening in the world, participate in and influence today's culture."

Topping the list was a famous scandal that not only had Tinsel Town but the world talking about, the infamous Oscar moment when Best Actor nominee Will Smith punched host Chris Rock for joking about his wife's appearance at the ceremony. The Guardian's headline about the incident, "Watch uncensored Will Smith punch Chris Rock at the Oscars and drop the F-bomb," became Ireland's most watched YouTube video of 2022.
The return of private events is evident this year, as the second entry on the list is another event the world is talking about and wanting to watch on YouTube: the Superbowl 2022 Halftime Show. The performances by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Featuring hip-hop hits from Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent.
The Sidemen are one of YouTube's most popular creators and in the third most watched video of the year, they took on a group of their YouTube friends in a charity football match that raised money for four charities in 90 minutes of football. . The match was streamed live on YouTube and attracted 2.6 million concurrent viewers on "SIDEMEN CHARITY MATCH 2022 [Official Stream]".
