CES 2023: Citizens Newest Smartwatch Puts Part Of NASA On Your Wrist

Citizen's new smartwatch features an app that uses alertness and fatigue research from NASA, as well as AI models created by IBM Watson Studio, to help you better understand how your body works every day. The app is called YouQ, and instead of just looking at what you're doing, it's also looking into the future .

By tracking your sleep and using personalized quizzes, the YouQ app will create a daily "energy solution," a recommended routine designed to increase alertness and reduce fatigue. The more you use YouQ and its routines, the more effective the app will be at suggesting the perfect healthy activities for your day. The second generation of Citizen smartwatches introduces two new models, the CZ Smart Sport and CZ Smart Casual, whose names refer to their respective main styles.

The CZ Smart Casual has a 41mm stainless steel case and a silver, gold or black metal band, rose gold link bracelet, leather band, or silicone sport band. It has a 1.28-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels, Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. In addition, this smartwatch has a speaker, microphone, NFC and fast charging. The battery should last a full day and can be recharged in about 40 minutes.

It shares the same basic specs as the CZ Smart Sport, but has a larger 44mm case in silver, black or silver/black, silver/blue or gold/black. There's a thick ring around the 1.28-inch display, and strap options are also diverse, with a perforated leather option that combines a black and silver metal strap and a pair of silicone straps. Both models use a heart rate monitor with Sp02 measurement.

And the program? Citizen says it's Google Wear OS, but doesn't say which version. We asked residents for confirmation. However, it may be Wear OS 2 that puts smartwatches at a huge disadvantage compared to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, and Google Pixel Watch. All of these smartwatches use the new Wear OS 3 software, which makes them even more modern.

The basic CZ Smart Casual smartwatch is $350 and the basic CZ Smart Sport is $375; Depending on the color combination and tires you choose, they can go up to $435. Both smartwatches will be available in the US starting March 2023.
