This episode of the podcast – the last in 2022 – isn't about audio equipment, it's about the fuel that powers their engines. Today we are talking about music. In particular: techno music; and how the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 brought the sound of instruments to the German capital and laid the foundations for Berlin to become a global techno music hub.
The exhibition is directed by Heiko Hofmann – an accessible and talented music journalist, curator, lecturer and consultant. He has a wealth of experience, having been the editor-in-chief of Groove Magazine for nearly two decades and hosting his own show. Hofmann is also curator and designer of the exhibition "No Pictures on the Dance Floor! Berlin 1989 – Today" at C/O Berlin. He currently works for the electronic music platform Beatport and is a visiting professor at the Clive Davis Conservatory of Recorded Music. the University of New York.
